A lot of projects start in the dirt. Foundations, driveways, utility lines, retaining walls — they all need proper groundwork before anything gets built. Baxter’s owns our excavators, dump trucks, and grading equipment, so we control the schedule from first dig to final grade. We’ve been doing excavation work across Hillsboro, Beaverton, and the Portland metro since 2019.

  • Site preparation — Clearing, stripping topsoil, and establishing rough grade before construction starts.
  • Grading and drainage — Finish grading for proper water flow away from structures — driveways, patios, building pads, and landscaping.
  • Trenching — Utility trenches for water, sewer, electrical, and drainage lines, dug to spec and backfilled properly.
  • Land clearing — Trees, brush, stumps, and debris removed to prepare your lot for construction.

We plan equipment access routes before we start and use mats or plywood to protect surfaces when needed. Fences, landscaping, and structures adjacent to the work area are flagged and protected. We clean up before we leave.
